A boat linked to the history of Italian excellence will guide you to discover the “Legend of the Sirens”, narrated three thousand years ago by Homer and which has always attracted tourists enchanted by such a fascinating story.
The ancient story tells of the presence of three wonderful girls half woman and half fish, Ligeia, Leucosia, Partenope, who with their sweet and enveloping song, hypnotized sailors to the point of causing their shipwreck against the cliffs. The tour lasting about 3 hours, for a maximum of 4 people, will take you through places steeped in history and myth, the “Bagni della Regina Giovanna” a spectacular natural pool, enclosed between the rocky beach and the limestone cliffs of Sorrento, connected to the sea by a characteristic natural arch. This marine oasis owes its name to Giovanna d’Angiò, the legendary queen of Naples, who preferred its emerald waters for its hidden and protected position and where she met her young lovers.
Proceeding towards Punta Campanella you will have the opportunity to take a dip in the “Baia di Puolo” and cool off near Punta Lagno under the icy waters of the “Cascatella”, a trickle of water that ends up directly in the sea, gushing out between the rocks several meters high. A must is a stop in the “Cala di Mitigliano”, a large and pleasant bay with crystal clear sea, overlooking the island of Capri.
Finally, Punta Campanella, where the remains of the Temple of Athena are still visible today, built by Ulysses, as a thank you to the goddess for having overcome the obstacle in that stretch of sea so beautiful, but so dangerous because it was infested by sirens.
