Fiat 500 convertible
In 1959, the 500 was approved for four full-size seats and presented at the Geneva Motor Show in two new models: the Nuova 500 Trasformabile, which still featured the Economy trim and the soft top up to the bonnet, and the Nuova 500 Tetto sunroof, which incorporated the Normale trim and the Sport’s half-sunroof. Finally, the floorpan was modified under the front seats, where footwells for the rear passengers were created. A padded rear seat was installed, and the car was approved for four people. To accommodate the increased payload, the rear end was strengthened. The engine was revised, increasing power to 16.5 hp, and the top speed reached 95 km/h.
